Every September there are children starting school, Montessori or playschool for the first time and since this post was very popular and schools are re-opening it is time to dust it off, edit it and re-post it.
Schools will be opening again starting, for some, in the next two weeks, others a little bit later. There will be new school goers and new Montessori goers. Exciting times for some many little people and also a tad scary.
No doubt as a mum you have already been preparing your little angel for the joys of school be it primary or pre-school.
Like In Business Preparation Goes A Long Way
It helps with smoothing the upheaval that change brings.
Along with getting your child ready to go back to school, as a busy Mumpreneur preparation should also be made for getting back into a routine with those precious few hours when your little darling is not at home to distract you.
Getting a sleep routine is vital, both for you and for your child/ren. We all need rest to re-charge and re-energise for the next day.
At the moment it is all too easy to keep telling yourself you haven’t got the time, however if you don’t take that rest you will end up making yourself ill and be forced to take the time.
For the first couple of weeks be prepared to have a very tired small person after school.
Using your brain in new ways is exhausting and if you plan this well you could also have a couple of extra hours in the evening to yourself.
Making a detailed plan is also very important.
You child/ren are getting both excited and nervous at the thought of a new experience.
Even those going back to school the prospect of a new teacher can be nerve-wrecking.
Knowing what to expect each day will help ease the changeover.
You can plan trips to the school so that your child know the route in advance. This can also help build up some excitement as they will know the route on the day.
For your business it is also wise to make a detailed list of what you will be doing with your time;
Make more of the product you sell
Do some admin work
Go to a network meeting
Attend a training you previously couldn’t attend
You choose the things that you can’t currently do with your children around.
This way it is easier to get tasks done and feel like you have accomplished something. It will also distract those mums who have their first child going to school from moping about over it.
These are just some tips to help make the back to school routine go a little smoother.
